NAME OF THE DEPARTMENT: SOCIOLOGY

•    The Department of Sociology was established in the year 1979.
•    Dr. Surendra.K was the head of the department and he joined the department 03-07- 2019.
•    Sociology department is one of the popular departments in social science.
•    At present 132 students are studying sociology as one of the optional subject.
•    The department of sociology offers principals of Sociology, development of social thought. The study of Indian society and Indian social problems for the all degree class.
•    The apart from the academic marvels the department providing possession well furnished full ledger library with a collection of about sociology books and journals to help the students as well teachers.

DEPARTMENTAL ACTIVITIES

    1. Department of Sociology is learning resources in the form of recommended books, reference books. UGC books.
    2. The faculty members also provide their personal books to supplement the library support in humanism and subject related books.
    3. The faculty and the students of the department take active participation in the tree plantation, blood donation, Flood relief, Aids awareness camp and such other activities.
    4. The faculty of sociology are giving personal attention to the students in addition to teaching.
    5. Participation of teachers in academic and personal counselling of students.
