Year of establishment: 1979The Department of Kannada came into existence in 1979. Since it was established, it has a rich in teaching and learning. The department has the qualified enthusiastic teachers who have extended their knowledge to the young readers. We also qualify Optional Kannada students to become future scholars in Kannada. Along with the curriculum, the department has organized seminars and workshops to create literary awareness and knowledge about ancient and recent writers and critics. The department has organized remedial classes to improve the slow learners. Classroom seminars are conducted regularly to prepare the students for higher studies and competitive exams. The department also extends other activities for quality learning for students like field visit, projects ‘Special Guest Lectures’ and some more activities to enrich students.

1^st Sem	Ancient Kannada Literary History DSC-AI	The present paper aims to convince the students about the basis of early literary forms of Kannada, inculcate in them the ancient knowledge and uniqueness of Kannada. The original intention of this paper is to discuss the urgent needs of the literature of the period, not only in terms of inscriptions and literature of the early period. Through this, the purpose of the paper is to inform the students about the life of the Kannadigas as expressed by the Kannada language and connect the contemporary knowledge they have formed with the imperatives and convince them of the possibilities of finding a solution to the contemporary challenges.
1^st Sem	Ancient Kannada Texts DSC-A2	By scrutinizing the ancient Kannada talent in the mediums expressed by the people of that time, through poetic qualities, the good of the society and the cultural identity that we have found in the present poetry pieces. Also linking poetic values and social values to contemporary situations.
1^st Sem	Kannada Shortcuts OEC-1	Minority is significant among the literary forms expressed through the creativity of the Kannadigas. Literature that stands as a reflection of the society is to understand the stories through a contemporary look at the challenges, challenges and resistance and to discuss the design of artistic life struggles in the creative life.
2^nd Sem	Medieval Kannada Literary History-DSC-A3	The life of the Kannadigas in the medieval context is an experimental one, mainly discussing how literature brought about movements and changes along with political uncertainties, social and cultural shifts in history.
2^nd Sem	Medieval Kannada Literary Texts DSC-A4	The talent of the Kannadigas in the medieval context has been expressed in a variety of historical settings and in many experimental roles. The medieval Kannada intellectuals channelled their thoughts through new genres. Literature on this occasion led to significant turning points in human history. Among them, mainly vachana, ragale, pattadi sangatya, tripadi and kirtana forms became the medium of expression here. Bhakti movement, heroic poems, sacrificial harmonies needed for Atmajyoti poetry expressed the wishes of equality of world consciousness. Here to the crises of the contemporary context. These texts provide a framework for solving contemporary challenges by linking theories. Novel literature
2^nd Sem	Kannada Novel OEC-2	Novel literature is one of the powerful genres of Kannada literature in the contemporary context as the genre plays an important role in shaping the creativity and narrative mode. The Kannada novel is planned to be studied as a symbol of creativity and a part of knowledge. Here is a special order
1st Sem Language-1	Kannada AECC	The BA Kannada curriculum is designed around four themes namely Kannada Nadu-Nudi Consciousness Nature, Childhood and Complexity. A framework is provided for discussion of the linguistic, intellectual, academic, business, ethical and cultural concerns required for capacity building among students as an initiative of the humanization process. Appropriate environment is created for teachers to use different teaching aids and other materials of knowledge to engage students.

Report: Prof.S.G.Sannakki,Dept. Kannada engaged a special lecture on Kannada Sahitya Charitre. Sir has delivered very enlightening on the very geniuses of kannadaSahitya and the glory of kannada literature. Sir has quoted numerous examples right from ‘Hale Kannada’ and very precisely sited many vachanaes and sayings from eminent kannada poet. Overall sir’s talk gave new horizons to explore ‘Kannada SahityaCharitre.’ Sir has equally applied the anicient kannada literature with the present scenario.Shri.S S Hiremath did the Honours of hosting the session overall 70 Students and Faculty members presented in the programme.
