NAME OF THE DEPARTMENT: HISTORY

• The Department of History was established in the year 1979.
• Dr. Vishwas A Korwar was the head of the department and he joined the department 03-07-2019.
• History department is one of the popular departments in social science.
• At present 350 students are studying History as one of the optional subject.
• The department of History offers principals of History, Development of social thought. The study of Indian society and Indian History for the all degree class.
• The apart from the academic marvels the department providing possession well furnished full ledger library with a collection of about History books and journals to help the students as well teachers.

Aims and Objectives:

  • To Make the Students understand the Fundamental duties on a Citizen of the country.

DEPARTMENTAL ACTIVITIES:

Department of History was organized Exhibition of Ancient Coins and Currencies, Education Tour, National level E-Quiz, Mahile&Arogya, Special lecturer, National level Webinar and Field visit Under the IQAC initiative.
1. Exhibition of ancient coins and currencies on 23rd January 2019 Presided by Dr.M.S.Patil Principal of our college. Prof.R.V.Jalawadi gave speech on this occasion.
2. Our Department has organized one day education tour on 23rd sept 2019.Four faculty members and 30 students visited various historical places of Vijayapur.
3. The department has organized national E-Quiz on ancient to modern Indian history on 6th June 2020.
4. MahileMattuArogya (Department of History, Dept of Kannada, Kannada NudiBalag were Jointly organized) on 19-01-2021 Presided by Dr.M.S.Patil of our college. Dr. KalavatiKamble Asst. professor Department of social work KSW University Vijayapur, Delivered Speech on this occasion.
5. History department was organized special lecture on 16-2-2021 presided by Dr.M.S.Patil principal of our college and Dr.R.H.Sajjan Asst.Professor Department of History M.G.V.C. Arts, Commerce and Science college Muddebihal. Delivered Special Lecture on Unification of Italy and Germany.
6. The department of History was organised National level Webinar on 10-7-2021 Presided by Prof. R. V. Jalawadi principal of our college. And KLN Murthy Professor and Chairman Department of Social studies Rani Channamma University Belagavi. Delivered speech on Art and Architecture of BadamiChalukya’s.
7. History department was organised Field visit on 27-8-2021. Two faculty members, one Attender and 30 students are visited to Bandeppanahalli, Salavadagi.
