The Department Of Computer Science was started in this esteemed college during the year 2018 affiliated to the Rani Channamma University, Belagavi with an objective to create quality professionals and research fellows who can work in every sector of the world by implementing the technology of computer systems and software. Computer Science is the study of Computers and Computational system. They Appling expertise to face the challenges and solve problems, effectively Communicating and Building on their Knowledge to Grow in their careers  As per the need and importance of Computer Application in the Global Scenario, the traditional course was subsequently converted into Restructured Course. The department has qualified, competent and well experienced teaching faculty. It is well equipped with a large number of books, computers, and learning Journals. The performance of the students in the University Examinations has been great. The 3 years B.Sc. Degree program is open for numerous career opportunities. The department takes all the initiatives to transform students in to successful professional consultant and about all enlightened citizens who will excel in today’s competitive world.

The Department offered B.Sc course in Computer Science. The department also took active part in interdisciplinary courses offered by others Department such as B.Com, BA.                

PARTICIPATION OF TEACHERS IN THE ACADEMIC AND PERSONAL COUNSELING OF STUDENTS

Individual care is taken for different problems faced by students by mentoring and counseling process.

(a)    There are more than 100 computer science books in the main library. 

(b)    There is a Computer Science laboratory with 30 computers. In view of the increasing use and applications of Computer science and technology, especially computer technology, the college felt that it is important to set up a computer laboratory for the students majoring in Computer Science. Thus, in the year 2018 the Computer laboratory was set up. Since then the students are opting for computer-oriented courses in B.Sc.

(c)    Internet facility (broadband) is available in the department.

(d)    Some class rooms are equipped with ICT facilities.

The teacher-student ratio in the Department is 1:50

•    To train the students in using the advanced programming languages related to curriculum such as python, AI, chatgpt, Power BI. 
•    To organize State-Level and National Level Workshops / Seminars for students and teachers of the various schools and colleges.
•    To undertake minor research projects under the UGC scheme involving the students.
•    To organize awareness programmes on Computer Science in different villages of the state, especially in the backward areas.
